Privileged to co-chair the EMBO–EACR Joint Session with René Bernards and to deliver an invited talk at the European Association for Cancer Research #EACR2025 conference in Lisbon, Portugal.

In my talk, I shared our recent insights on infection-driven cancer initiation using advanced 3D organoid models and spatial single-cell technologies—highlighting the role of metaplastic niches, immune dynamics, and host–pathogen interactions in disease evolution.
